🪖 Transform your business with this military concept
This Amazon-tested process can help you build an elite-level business.

If your business isn’t regularly improving, you’re screwed.
Fortunately, there’s 1 powerful process that leads to continual improvement…
And can help you build an elite business (even without you being present!)
Let’s get into it…
The AAR Meeting
The AAR stands for after action review.
The US military developed this concept, where a group gets together in a formal setting after an initiative to review results.
This is part of what makes Amazon so successful:
They use AARs to always improve and beat previous results.
There are 6 questions to review in an AAR meeting to identify where to focus attention on improvement:
What were our intended results?
What were our actual results?
What will we do the same next time?
What will we do differently next time?
What are the assigned actions?
Who owns those actions?
Continuous Improvement Meetings
The first type of meeting you need to implement to make your business better is a continuous improvement meeting.
At least once a month, you should review your company’s data through the lens of those 6 questions above.
To do this successfully, you must have targeted goals (benchmarks) compared to actual results.
At 8FA, we have an associate that fills out a dashboard every week, so my COO and I can have the data at our fingertips for weekly and monthly business reviews.
(If you need assistance learning how to run these meetings or building dashboards, schedule a call with 8FA here and we’ll walk you through it!)
When Things Break
The best time to implement an AAR is when things break.
If you have a weekly meeting for continuous improvement, you can use this meeting to cover when clients churn, things that went wrong, or internal conflicts.
A simple meeting agenda can go like this:
Review prior actions and if they were completed
Weekly business data review
List of things that broke
Pick and decide which issues to cover
Complete continuous improvement review on all issues
Assign actions
Tracking & Improvements
To ensure continuous improvement, consider assigning an owner for each business unit or department.
This person will oversee the implementation of process changes, and their responsibilities should include:
Updating project templates
Refining process workflows
Improving SOPs
It’s crucial that this role includes follow-through on process changes.
Their performance in this area should be tied to their performance reviews, compensation, and opportunities for promotions and raises.
By integrating these steps, your business will naturally evolve and improve…
And help you rise to the top 1% of businesses in your industry, as most companies simply aren’t using processes like this.
