The idea? Lose a little in one area to gain valuable customers elsewhere.

Here’s how I’m going to apply it:

Every month, we refer 30-40 intros to accounting firms because we don’t offer tax accounting services.

But ideally, clients would rather not be handed off to a random accountant.

So – I’m changing our approach:

1. Bring in Skilled Freelance CPAs

We find CPAs who want more freedom and income. We get the leads, close the deals, and pass the account over to them. They get 70-80% of the revenue, handle tax accounts, and we avoid the operational headache. Win-win.

2. Offer a “One-Stop-Shop” Experience

We acquire new clients through tax services, and aim to move them onto our bookkeeping services—adding 50-150 clients annually (because clients want firms that do both).

3. Scale Without the Overhead

When one CPA hits capacity, we bring in another. Clients feel secure, and we add major revenue with minimal risk.

This model turns referrals into a continuous stream of valuable clients while keeping overhead light.
