Here are 3 things you may be doing that you should delegate and hence, free up time to focus more on growth:

1- Bookkeeping

So often I find founders are organizing transactions in QuickBooks/Xero or not doing it at all.

You need your books in order to know what is going on, but you don’t need to be organizing transactions.

This monthly function can be delegated for $350/mo to a competent bookkeeping firm.

2 Invoicing

I often find that founders are managing/handling invoices of active clients.

At 8F, we have a customer success associate who handles this for us.

I hired this high-performing employee from Belize, where English is their first language, and he is in a similar time zone to myself (CST).

Delegating this was very simple once I set the time to do it.

  • Begin recording yourself completing the tasks on Loom as you do them

  • Aggregate these in a folder/google sheet 

  • Hire an associate (reply to this email if you want the vendor that sourced the LATAM VA for me)

  • Spend some time training and bang…

3 Payroll

This is one I find too many founders are doing…

Founders fear that their payroll associates may steal from them.

If this is you, here is the bulletproof system to delegate this:

Sign up for Gusto (If you’re in the US).

I love Gusto & it is arguably my favorite software.

Not only is running payroll on this software easy, but the company auto-files all tax reports for W2, 1099s, and international contractors.

To avoid someone ever stealing from you, hire a payroll associate off Upwork & only give them permission to complete payroll (not add team members).

Bang, payroll has been delegated.

Final note:

I have my team members submit their hours directly to my payroll associate in Slack and bi-monthly he completes payment.

You can create a simple form for team members to submit hours to for visibility & auditing.
